The vape starts tasting stale and flat, even if there is still plenty of juice left inside the tank.
Mesh screens do not get this crust easily because they stay cooler. The heat is too even for the residue to bake on. This means the flavor stays clean from the very first puff until the tank is completely empty.
Where Regular Wire Coils Still Work
Even though mesh is better for maximum flavor burst, regular wire coils are not totally useless. Mesh screens are harder to make and cost more at the factory. Standard round wire is cheap, reliable, and easy to mass-produce in huge numbers.
This makes regular wire perfect for straightforward, low-capacity devices. On smaller vapes, the tank runs out of juice before coil gunk can severely ruin the flavor. For people who just want a steady, simple daily vape and do not care about trick clouds, standard wire works totally fine.
The Technical Specs to Check
If you want to know how a device will actually perform, you need to look at the coil resistance. This is measured in ohms (Ω).
Low resistance coils (like 0.6 or 0.8 ohms) take a lot of power from the battery. They burn a lot of juice at once to give you huge clouds and a strong throat hit, but they empty the tank and drain the battery very fast.
High resistance coils (like 1.1 or 1.2 ohms) run much cooler. They use less power and less juice on every hit, which makes the whole disposable last much longer.
